«Flow of Wight»

«Flow of Wight»

The flow of body wight is one of those kinetic phenomenon we can study properly in Contact Improvisation. This intensive informs our bodies in the «flowing» that arises in the fine-grained interplay of body mass and muscle tone.

«Flow of Wight» means: We make motion happen at the interface of doing and undoing. We explore possibilites to punctually initiate and discreetly direct the flowing of body wight, without «controlling» our movement or «manipulating» the partner.

Two aspects I would like to focus on: We explore how we can use the flow of wight to find effortless and maybe new ways into lifts. Moreover we try out how to move without partner in a way that is technically and aesthetically related to Contact Improvisation. This may open doors to practise CI as a part of Contemporary Dance.
